LiFePO4 solar batteries in Bangalore: voltage, capacity and backup

By Pai Power Solutions2 min read

The quick answer

Compare solar batteries using voltage, energy capacity and compatibility with your inverter. Amp-hours alone cannot compare batteries at different voltages, and nominal capacity does not equal guaranteed backup duration.

Why voltage matters when comparing amp-hours

Nominal energy in watt-hours is calculated as voltage multiplied by amp-hours. For example, a 12.8V 100Ah battery has 1,280Wh, or 1.28kWh, of nominal energy. This is an arithmetic illustration, not a promise that all of that energy will reach your appliances.

Usable capacity, discharge limits, reserve settings and system losses affect delivered energy. Ask for these assumptions when comparing a battery quotation. A larger Ah number at a lower voltage is not automatically a larger energy store.

Check the exact Lion Battery specification

Pai Power Solutions lists Lion lithium battery products in multiple voltage and capacity options. Confirm the full model, voltage, capacity, BMS details and warranty terms on the quotation and supplied label. Product-family photographs can show a different capacity from the chosen listing.

Ask the installer to verify the inverter’s permitted battery voltage, charging settings, current limits and any required communication. Do not assume batteries can be connected in series or parallel without explicit manufacturer support for the proposed configuration.

  • Exact voltage, Ah and nominal kWh
  • Usable-energy and discharge assumptions
  • Inverter compatibility and BMS requirements
  • Supported connection arrangement and warranty

Estimate backup from the loads you actually need

Prepare an essential-load list and the hours of support you want. As an illustrative calculation, a constant 500W load running for two hours needs 1kWh at the load before allowing for system losses and reserve. Actual appliance consumption can vary, so the design needs realistic measurements or ratings.

For a Bangalore home or business, tell Pai Power Solutions whether the battery is intended for outages, evening use or an existing UPS arrangement. Ask for a written configuration and avoid comparing batteries only by advertised runtime.

Common questions

Are 100Ah batteries at different voltages equal?

No. Nominal energy is voltage multiplied by amp-hours. Compare kWh as well as compatibility, usable capacity and current limits.

Can a battery provide a guaranteed number of backup hours?

Runtime depends on the load, usable battery energy, settings and losses. A useful estimate states these assumptions and the circuits being supplied.
